Welcome to Hermosa Valley’s School Counseling Page!

My name is Cassy Ryley and I am the School Counselor at Hermosa Valley, supporting 3th through 8th grade students. I am excited to be part of the team at The Best Little Beach School.  This is my first year at Hermosa Valley, but I have previously worked with our neighbors at Redondo Beach Unified School District, and in K-12 schools across the South Bay as a consultant, programmer, and trainer. I earned my Master’s in School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from CSU, Long Beach.

The School Counseling program at Hermosa Valley is an inclusive and comprehensive program that provides social-emotional, academic, and college and career support to ALL students. We are committed to collaboration and teamwork to support student success. At Hermosa Valley, we recognize that stress levels are high and that school continues to look a little different to what we are used to. I am here for students, families, and staff as we navigate “the new normal”.

Originally from London, England, I have lived in the South Bay for 15 years. In the South Bay I have found my “home away from home” and am raising my own two children here. I am passionate about education and dedicated to lifelong learning. Working with children inspires me to do my best work every day and keeps me young at heart. I am looking forward to continuing to get to know you all.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns - I am here for you all.
