Bring your extra Halloween candy to school from November 3-7! HVPTO will be collecting candy and letters to send to our troops, which will be shared with the 250th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Battalion and Operation Gratitude. These contributions will be included in care packages sent to deployed troops, veterans, new recruits, and first responders. Additionally, candy donations will go to the Ronald McDonald House.
If your child doesn’t get a chance to write a letter at school, please encourage them to write one at home. Family members are also welcome to participate. Please review the Operation Gratitude’s "Write a Letter to Our Heroes!" for letter writing tips.
Drop-Off Details:
- Candy: Collection boxes will be available outside each school office from November 3-7. Please bring candy in Ziploc-style resealable bags. In case of warm weather, boxes may be moved to inside the office to prevent candy from melting.
- Letters: Place letters in the red collection tray labeled “Letters for the Troops” in each school office, between November 3-7. Please do not use envelopes.
