Join us for the SB 114 Parent Information Night on Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 PM in the Hermosa View MPR, where families can learn about California's new statewide requirement for universal K-2 reading screenings beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Attendees will hear how SB 114 will be implemented in HBCSD, what the screening process looks like, how results will be shared, parent opt-out options, and the supports available for students identified as at risk for reading difficulties, including dyslexia. This informational session will help K-2 families understand the new process and ask questions as we prepare for the February 2026 screening window.
