All View students will be attending a special Japanese Cultural Assembly, generously provided by STAR Education, on Thursday, May 29, from 9:00-9:30 AM on the View Blacktop. The assembly will feature a live performance by professional koto musician Hiroko Masuda, who will introduce the koto, a traditional Japanese string instrument, and share its beautiful sound, cultural significance, and historical roots. Students will also learn about Japanese customs and traditions. After the assembly, STAR Education teachers will visit classrooms to lead interactive, hands-on cultural lessons that expand on what they learned during the assembly.
