All Vista students will be attending a special India Cultural Assembly, generously provided by STAR Education, on Tuesday, June 10, from 9:00-9:30 AM on the Vista Blacktop. The assembly will feature a live performance by professional Bollywood dancer Saleena Khamamkar and traditional Indian drummer Vinay Sharma. Students will experience the vibrant energy of Bollywood dance and the powerful rhythm of the Dhol drum while learning about India's history, customs, and culture. Students will also be invited to join in and move to the lively beat of Bollywood, creating a fun and interactive experience. After the assembly, STAR Education teachers will visit classrooms to lead a hands-on cultural lesson focused on the significance of the mandala in Indian art and culture. Students will explore the mandala's historical roots and its continued use as a creative and meditative tool that promotes focus, serenity, and balance.
