Are you interested in making your community a better place? Here’s a great, easy opportunity for you and your family to help get your school ready for the upcoming year!
Beach Cities Volunteer Day is Beach Cities Health District’s annual community service event that brings together South Bay businesses, organizations and residents to support our LiveWell Kids Program.
For 2026, Beach Cities Volunteer Day is Wednesday, August 12, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. It’s an event where BCHD Staff, Volunteers, local organizations and corporate teams partner with us to prepare 13 elementary school gardens across Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach—setting the stage for a new year of hands on garden and nutrition lessons for local students.
Following a kick-off event at Dominguez Park in Redondo Beach at 8:30 a.m., there will be a team of volunteers at Hermosa View School from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. preparing the LiveWell Kids Garden, and you and your children (with adult supervision) can help, too!
No gardening experience is required—we provide all tools, supplies, and guidance. It’s a simple, high impact way to make a measurable difference in the community. Step In, Show Up, Make an Impact.
These LiveWell Kids gardens are dynamic learning environments that ignite curiosity, nurture healthy habits, and connect children to the natural world. Your involvement will help ensure these gardens flourish and remain ready for meaningful, real world learning year after year.
