Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (TK-6)
What is Expanded Learning?
“Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences.
HBCSD has partnered with STAR Education to provide the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) to HVS TK-6th grade students for the school year 2025-2026 and the summer of 2026.
The HBCSD Expanded Learning Opportunities Program includes:
- Before and After School Daycare: August 2025-June 2026 from 7:00 AM until the start of school and end of school day until 6:00 PM, as shared under the STAR Education Program
- Presidents' Week Camp: February 9-13, 2026, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, at Hermosa View
- Spring Break Camp: April 6-10, 2026, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, at Hermosa View
- Summer Camp: June 22-July 20, 2026 (No Camp - July 3, 2026), from 8:00 AM-12:30 PM, at Hermosa Vista
Fees will be waived for students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals, are experiencing housing instability, or are foster youth. In the 2025-2026 school year, HBCSD began using My SchoolApps for submitting free or reduced-price meal applications. This secure and confidential process can be completed from any internet-connected device. For more details, visit our Food Services page.
