HBCSD History and Social Science department values lifelong learning developed through inquiry and exploration of key historical concepts, as well as examination of social, economic, and political problems facing the state, nation and world. Through engaging in meaningful discussion and collaborative experiences, we work to prepare all students to be informed, broad-minded, responsible and ethical citizens in their communities.

Middle school students are currently using California World History, published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston.
 
HBCSD will be piloting and participating in a textbook adoption for the 2021-22 school year.  Parents interested in participating in the textbook adoption committee may contact Sylvia Gluck, Director of Administrative Services at sgluck@hbcsd.org.
