STAR Education Program (TK-5)

HBCSD has teamed up again with the award-winning STAR Education Program to offer before and after-school child care and enrichment classes for the 2024-2026 school years.

 

Before and After School Child Care

STAR Education provides an incredible before and after school program through its Hermosa STAR Galaxy Program to our Hermosa school students right on our school sites. Child Care options are available for students in grades TK-5 at Hermosa View and Hermosa Vista sites as follows:

 

2024-2025 School Year

• Hermosa STAR Morning Care: Offered five days a week from 7:00 AM-School Start. The fee is divided into ten equal payments of $248 for the 2024-2025 school year.
• Hermosa STAR Galaxy: Offered five days a week after School-6:00 PM. The fee is divided into ten equal payments of $620 for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

2025-2026 School Year

• Hermosa STAR Morning Care: Offered five days a week from 7:00 AM-School Start. The fee is divided into ten equal payments of $258 for the 2025-2026 school year.
• Hermosa STAR Galaxy: Offered five days a week after School-6:00 PM. The fee is divided into ten equal payments of $640 for the 2025-2026 school year.

 

The Hermosa STAR Morning Care/Galaxy Program registration will begin for the 2025-2026 school year as follows:

 

 

When you enroll, you will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit. Installments will not be charged until August 1, 2025. If the program is full, you can be added to the waitlist. To learn more, view the flyer.

 

After School Enrichment

STAR Education offers a variety of enrichment classes once a week through its STAR Nova Enrichment Program for students in grades TK-5 at Hermosa View and Hermosa Vista Schools. The program runs four 8-week sessions per school year, each with a separate registration.

 

2024-2025 School Year- Session 3 (2/23/2025-4/4/2025)

The Star Nova 3 class schedule flyers are now available for Hermosa View and Hermosa Vista Schools. Registration is as follows:

 

View Registration begins on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at STARINC.ORG, with the weekly classes beginning the week of February 3rd.

 

Vista Registration begins on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM at STARINC.ORG, with the weekly classes beginning the week of February 3rd.

 

2025-2026 School Year- Session 3

The Nova 1 class schedule will be available in August 2025, with weekly classes beginning in September 2025.

*Before and after school child care and enrichment classes for Hermosa Valley 5th graders will be held at Hermosa Vista School. STAR staff will walk students over.

 

STAR Education Camps

During the 2024-2025 school year, STAR Education will be offering camps for TK-5 students during Presidents' Week, Spring Break, and Summer. Camp registration will be available closer to the camp dates listed below.

 

• STAR Ed Presidents' Week Camp at Hermosa View: February 10-14, 2025, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM (Flyer; Sign-up today!)
• STAR Ed Spring Break Camp at Hermosa View: April 14-18, 2025, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM (Flyer; Sign-up today!)
• Star Ed Summer Camp at Hermosa Vista: June 23-July 21, 2025 - No Camp on July 4, 2025, from 8:00 AM-12:30 PM (more information to come)
