BCHD LiveWell Kids Program (K-5)

Beach Cities Health District LiveWell Kids Program

The Beach Cities Health District's LiveWell Kids is a fun and dynamic school health and well-being program developed specifically for elementary school students (K-5).

Garden and Nutrition Education

The LiveWell Kids Program is a farm-to-table program focused on nutrition and gardening. There are six 30-45 minute interactive lessons that concentrate on educating K-5 students on the process and benefits of growing their own food and making healthy eating choices. All lessons are delivered in the fresh air of the school gardens by trained parent volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunity

If you are a K-5 parent/guardian who would like to volunteer at Hermosa View, Vista, or Valley School Gardens, we would welcome your help. The LiveWell Kids Program currently needs 1-2 lead volunteers per school and 2 volunteers per classroom. To learn more, check out the LiveWell Kids Lead Volunteer Job Description and Volunteer Training Schedule.
