At Hermosa Beach City School District (HBCSD), our teachers, administrators, and support staff are dedicated to providing academic excellence and exceptional service to our families. To ensure a smooth and convenient experience, please follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.
Before you Start
What grade is your student eligible for enrollment?
- If your child HAS attended a public or private school in California: The student will be promoted to the next grade level for the following school year unless retention paperwork is included in the student's school cumulative file.
- Unsure about your child's grade placement? Refer to the Grade Level Placement Chart for guidance. For further questions, please contact your school directly.
Interdistrict Attendance Permit Applications

Returning & New Student Registration
All returning & new HVS students must complete annual Back-to-School Forms. These forms must be submitted via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. For details, visit the Returning & New Student Registration page.
