Board Meetings

The Hermosa Beach City School District Board of Education is the elected body responsible for governing our school district. The five board members serve four-year terms. By law, the Board is accountable for the education of all students in the District. The Board's actions must adhere to Federal, State, and County laws, establish policy, and provide direction to staff on instructional programs, financial decisions, and collective bargaining. The District staff, led by the Superintendent of Schools, implements the Board's policies and directives.

Board Meetings
School board meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month at the Hermosa Beach City Council Chambers, located at 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach. Closed Session begins at 5:00 PM, followed by an Open Session at 6:00 PM. Meeting dates and times may change. The public is welcome to attend these open meetings. To address the board on any agenda items or other business, please complete a special card available at the meeting.

You may submit public comment via the HBCSD Public Comment Form at any time leading up to the beginning of the school board meeting, and it will be forwarded to the Board and posted below for public viewing.

The school board meetings are broadcast live on Spectrum Cable Channel 8,  Frontier Channel 31, the City of Hermosa Beach Cable Channel, and the HBCSD YouTube Channel. The full board agenda is available for viewing at the school district office and our school site offices from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
