Enrollment Support for Families Impacted by the LA Wildfires

Supporting Families Affected by the Los Angeles Wildfires
At the Hermosa Beach City School District (HBCSD), our hearts go out to all those impacted by the devastating Los Angeles Wildfires. We are deeply saddened by the profound losses and hardships so many families are facing during this unimaginable time. Please know that we are here to offer support and assistance as we face these challenges together.
Enrollment Assistance for Displaced Families
HBCSD is committed to helping families affected by the LA Wildfires enroll their children in school. If you need to enroll a student or students, we are here to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible. While having documentation can help establish your child’s school record, it is not required. Our goal is to enroll your child quickly and seamlessly to minimize disruptions to learning.
If available, please bring:
- Parent’s driver’s license
- Student’s birth certificate
- Proof of current grade-level enrollment
- Transcripts, report cards, or other school records
- Immunization and/or medical records
- Any current residential information (e.g., hotel contract, short-term rental agreement, lease, or emergency housing details)
We accept both physical and digital copies of these documents. If you do not have these items, our staff will assist you in completing the enrollment process.
For questions about enrollment or services for displaced families, please contact Paulette Recinos, District Clerk, at (424) 333-9975 x 2119 or by email at [email protected].
For any other assistance, please contact Sylvia Gluck, Executive Director of Administrative Services, at (424) 333-9975 x 1267 or by email at [email protected].
