Superintendent Search
On Monday, May 20, 2024, the Hermosa Beach City School District (HBCSD) Board of Education initiated the search for a new superintendent of schools. The Board has retained the Education Support Services (ESS) advisors, Dr. Steven Keller and Dr. Gary Rutherford, to conduct the search for our District's next superintendent. The selected candidate is expected to begin their assignment as soon as possible following Board approval.
COMMUNITY INPUT
As we embark on the important journey of selecting our new superintendent of schools, your input is crucial. We appreciate feedback from our leadership, certificated and classified staff, parents/guardians, students, and community members/partners. Please take a few minutes to complete the HBCSD Superintendent Search Online Survey by Thursday, June 6, 2024. Your responses will help the Board assess your interests surrounding the experiences, leadership qualities, and personal attributes you believe the incoming superintendent should possess. All individual responses will remain anonymous.
COMMUNITY OPEN FORUM
Your voice is vitally important as we recruit and vet candidates for our next superintendent. We have scheduled a Superintendent Search Community Open Forum for Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in the Hermosa Vista School Multipurpose Room. We encourage you to attend to share your thoughts and opinions.
